sculpture. left college after two years.

with assistant and friend cody powell.

now back in idaho, carving like a banshee would if he/she could.

i am a sylvan artist. this means i use a lathe and carving tools to
shape wood. i see myself as both craftsman and artist. i make sculptures
that stand alone without need for bases, many in multiple orientations.

i work with a variety of woods including maple, walnut, elm and black
locust; 95% of it is salvaged. i do all my initial carving while the wood
is green, then allow it to cure for many months. after the curing process,
i return to the sculpture to bring out the details.
